I hope that once I move there will be no more of this waking up at 7 on the dot on a Saturday business - unless I have to go to work.
Of course it also doesn't help that I have my incredibly cute 2-year-old nephew yelling "'ello, Aunti Ow!" at the top of his lungs outside my door, in the hopes that I will come out and play cars with him or help him run up and down the long staircase.
My room is really empty right now - my bookshelves are dismantled and downstairs, and any remaining stuff I have scattered around can be stuffed into a backpack tomorrow morning. My room has the same echo-y feeling it did when I moved into it ten years ago. I've never been in a place for ten years before.
Painting went well - Pie's sister Meg helped us out, and we got the first coats down on the bedroom and the kitchen. The bedroom is a light green with a hint of brown, and then the kitchen is a greenish gray. The only problem with the kitchen was that the walls in it were all different colours, so on one of the walls, the wet colour of our paint looked exactly like the dry colour of the original paint, and we had no idea where we'd gone over. So some spots were really gone over a few times, and other spots are completely blank. Them's the luck of the draw. Not to mention that each one of us had our share of paint mishaps: stepping on the paint lid, putting one's hand in the paint tray, leaning accidentally against a fresh wall . . .
