So today (less than an hour ago, actually), I told my boss that I was leaving my job.
I said that I had to focus on the thesis portion of my degree and so in September I wouldn't have time to work for him anymore, as my schedule would be too erratic.
He didn't really miss a beat, though (I think he suspected something was up when I bought him a date square this morning - Jen bought him a brownie when she gave her notice). He told me he would be sorry to see me go and that he would "miss [me] in more ways than one." Whatever THAT means.
I lied and said, "Thank you. It's been fun." He agreed.
So, 1 September 2006 is precisely seven weeks from now.
